Apple has rolled out a preview of iCloud functionality with the availability of the iTunes in the Cloud Beta for the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPad and iPad2, and 3rd and 4th generation iPod touch devices running iOS 4.3.3. As the Verizon iPhone 4 is on a different update track with the latest version of iOS on its hardware (currently at 4.2.8), that iPhone variant is excluded from the beta. iTunes in the Cloud enables the aforementioned devices to use the Automatic Download option for previously purchased books, apps and music as well as enabling desktop iBook purchases. The preview requires iTunes 10.3 and the Automatic Download option for music is limited to the US and Canada.
