“Market speculation” suggests Samsung to Purchase Nokia

With Android and iOS leading in market shares and profit gains these days, the weakening fondness for the Symbian operating system included in Nokia gives out a signal that the Finnish handset maker might consider being sold to Samsung, as what “market speculations” are suggesting, according to Dow Jones. All these information surfaced due to a financial downfall, particularly in the second quarter of 2010, when Nokia had to give up 25% of their market share just to survive, which still affects 2011, as they no longer entertain the idea of setting up annual selling targets.

Known for providing the Symbian OS on units for so long, Nokia actually surprised the mobile world when they mentioned that Windows would be the primary OS of their upcoming smartphones, giving the previous operating system a blank stare on what would happen next. The company is in a tight spot at the moment knowing that the Windows Phone deal has not been finalized yet, while they are entrusting their future on devices that have systems that will soon be obsolete.
