HTC Sensation available to pre-order at CPW

HTC’s latest high-end smartphone now available to pre-order from Carphone, free on 40 a month contracts

The HTC Sensation is now available to pre-order at The Carphone Warehouse, ready for delivery on the week commencing June 20.

It is free on a 40 a month Orange contract that comes with either 1,200 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB of data or 900 minutes, unlimited texts and 750MB of data.

The Sensation runs off Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and a 1.2GHz dual-core processor. It comes with a 4.3-inch screen, eight-megapixel camera with HD video recording capabilities as well as a front facing camera for video chat.

Featuring for the first time on a HTC handset is the company’s video streaming and rental service for mobile devices, HTC Watch. The application hosts a library of films and television shows. If the content is purchased, it can be watched on up to five different HTC devices.

The handset also includes HTC’s Sense user interface, which has been upgraded. For example, a customizable lockscreen has been introduced to transform it into a real-time window to the most important information and content, such as social networking updates, photos, weather or stock updates.

In addition, the HTC Cha Cha went on sale at Carphone yesterday, available for free on a range of Orange and Vodafone contracts for 20 a month.

The phone, aimed at social networkers, also runs off Android 2.3 (Gingerbread)and comes with a Facebook button and Facebook Chat widget. It also features a 2.6-inch touchscreen, QWERTY keyboard and five-megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash.
