Vendor will create 500 new permanent roles in the UK bringing its total headcount to 1,000
Chinese vendor Huawei says it plans to create 500 new jobs in the UK over the next three years, doubling its overall headcount in the country to 1,000.
The move will, according to Huawei extend its enterprise and device business bases and generate revenue growth as well as help it “explore broader ICT ad consumer business” across the UK.
As well as increasing its employee base, Huawei says it will generate another 1,000 to 1,500 subcontracting roles over the next three years.
It says it currently has around one hundred permanent and fixed term contracts available across its UK business.
As part of the plans to increase its head count, Huawei is also in the process of developing a graduate programme to attract a “new generation” of British talent.
Huawei UK chief executive Victor Zhang said: “We are committed to bringing more job opportunities to the UK which is a key market for us.
“An increase in employees in our UK office will help us to provide more customised and innovative products and solutions for British telecom carriers, enterprise customers and consumers.”
