Apple overtakes Nokia, becomes world’s largest handset vendor by revenue
As far as shipments and phone sales go, Nokia is still the world’s no. 1 handset maker. But as far as revenue and the first 3 months of 2011 is concerned, Apple is now the top dog. iPhone revenue for Q1 is a whopping $11.9 billion, which clearly beats Nokia’s $9.4 billion revenue for the same quarter. Strategic Analytics, however, is optimistic that Nokia will regain the top spot once again thanks to their new partnership with Microsoft.
