As we reported yesterday, Samsung intends to announce the successor to their very successful Samsung Galaxy S smartphone during Mobile World Congress 2011 in February, you can read that article by hitting up (here).
However it appears the name of the new Sammy device along with some details and an image have now hit the net waves according to an article over on the Boy Genius Report by Andrew Munchbach. Apparently Korean newspaper ETnews claims that the Galaxy S successor will be called the Samsung Galaxy S2, although that could change.
When it comes to specifications for the Samsung Galaxy S2 the article says the device will sport the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED display, NFC chip, and a dual-core processor, which sounds about right for a successor to the Galaxy S.
However, whether the perported image of the Samsung Galaxy S2 is the real deal is another matter as the guys say they aren’t too sure of its authenticity, but it does look like a stylish device, sop no doubt we’ll learn more about the Samsung Galaxy S2 when MWC 2011 rolls around.
