Android Froyo Not Being Withheld For Money Says Samsung

A while ago the word doing the round was that Samsung was holding back the Android 2.2 Froyo update from Samsung Galaxy S handset owners and the rumour was that Sammy couldn’t agree terms with the carriers, meaning they wanted the carriers to pay for the update.

However, according to an article over on Intomobile by Marc Flores, the guys over at Phone Scoop have received an email from Samsung denying they are holding back Android 2.2 Froyo because of money.

Here’s what the Samsung email said…“No. Samsung is not charging carriers for Froyo updates to Galaxy S. We hope to have more detail on status shortly. Promise!”

So if Samsung is being truthful on the matter Samsung Galaxy S users should see the Android 2.2 Froyo update start hitting their devices sometime in the future, just how far in the future that may be is anyone’s guess.
