Samsung officially introduced a new version of its Galaxy S Android Smartphone. This time it’s not the Galaxy S2, which will be unveiled at MWC 2011-but it’s the Galaxy SL I9003.
Difference between the old Galaxy S I9000 and the new SL I9003 is that the latter features a 4-inch Super Clear LCD Display, instead of a 4-inch Super AMOLED one. New handset is heavier (131 grams vs. 119 grams) and thicker (10.59 mm vs. 9.9 mm) than the old one.
Also, the I9003 has a 1650 mash battery and it comes with Android 2.2, and perhaps an update to 2.3 Gingerbread is due to arrive soon. Other change is that the 1GHz processor of the I9003 is a TI OMAP 3630 one. GSM Arena has got a hold of the new Galaxy SL and compared its Super Clear LCD display with the screens of the original Galaxy S, and the LG Optimus 2X.
While the SC-LCD screen is better than the display of the Optimus 2X, it still doesn’t match the quality of the Super AMOLED screen the i9000 has. There’s no word on when or where the Galaxy SL i9003 will be released, but we can already see it over at Samsung Mobile Middle East’s official website.
