Well we already have the 7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab and Sammy is pushing out the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 version, and apparently the word is now a third Android based tablet will be added to the Galaxy range.
According to an article over on Gaj-it, an executive of Samsung has said the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9-inch model will sit alongside the 7-inch and 10.1-inch Samsung tablets and will be available from mobile networks.
Not much detail on this 8.9-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab, but the Examiner is reporting the device is expected to pack the Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system, while Engadget seems to have the low down on a prospective release date, by way of Yonhap News, which is sometime in the summer.
Other than that nothing else is known but we can probably expect at least the same specs as seen on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10. One has to wonder just how many Android tablet devices Sammy thinks it should need.
