Samsung E2330, A Basic Slider For The European Market

Samsung has a new unannounced phone appearing in its Germany and Romanian websites.  Called the Samsung E2330, it's an entry-level slider with a basic set of features.

Sporting curved corners and a blocky frame, the handset is about standard for vertical T9-type sliders.  Phone dimensions are  99 x 47 x 14.9 mm (when closed), with a weight of 88 grams.

Details of the Samsung E2330 include a 2-inch TFT LCD (128 x 160 resolution), a VGA photo camera, stereo Bluetooth, 3.5 mm jack, 20MB of internal storage, microSD card expansion (up to 8GB) and an 800 mAh battery (over 12 hours of talk time).   It supports the GSM 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz bands, with data access restricted to GPRS (no support for 3G or WiFi).

Features, naturally, run the basic range, with messaging, a music player and simple PIM tools.  Despite the modest capabilities, it comes bearing gifts for social networking fans with Facebook and Twitter access in tow.  It isn't clear whether those are Java apps or just shortcuts to WAP websites, however.

No word on release date or pricing for the Samsung E2330.   Expect it at floor prices, though, since the specs are about as basic as a modern camera phone can get.
