Verizon has announced that it has added more affiliates to its rural LTE network initiative to offer its LTE network in typically underserved rural areas by signing up rural carriers to help build out infrastructure.
The latest carriers announced for the initiative include Bluegrass Cellular, Cellcom, Cross Wireless, Pioneer Cellular, Strata Networks and Thumb Wireless, which are located in portions of Kentucky, Oklahoma, Michigan, Wisconsin and Utah respectively. The combined network covers 58,000 square miles and will serve 1.8 million people when complete.
