The QNX is the system being used by BlackBerry Playbook to get along with navigation and opening various applications. The visuals and interface system of the QNX may be applied to smartphones if possible, however, even up to the latest release of BlackBerry phones, it is still running BB OS, which may make someone question when QNX will be launch to power handsets. It is expected that the first QNX phone may be unleashed some time in Q1 of 2012, in the form of BlackBerry Colt.
Despite of the powerful new UI to be introduced to a new device platform, people will not be seeing a dual core on this piece because the Colt only carries a 1GHz processor, to keep its reputation for expanding battery life and overall usage. It may be possible that an update for dual-core may be pushed through, however, the testing is on the single-core processor, which may stabilize everything upon the Colt’s or the QNX’s release for phones.
