HTC EVO 3D
HTC recently announced the Canadian availability of the Android-powered HTC EVO 3D smartphone. One of the first glasses-free 3D-capable smartphones in Canada, the HTC EVO 3D is equally adept at downloading music and movies, accessing applications from the Android Market and staying connected to friends and family with integrated social networking support. The dual-core HTC EVO 3D smartphone will be available in Canada only from Rogers Communications Inc. Customers can find it in store beginning on August 11, 2011, for $149.99 on select three-year plans. For more information, please visit www.rogers.com/EVO3D.
Stereoscopic 5 megapixel cameras allow people to film and shoot in 3D, while built-in 3D display technology makes it possible to watch videos and browse photos that jump off the phone’s 4.3 inch screen—no glasses required! Eye-popping photos and videos can be shared with other 3D devices, including 3D equipped televisions.
With HTC Watch, movie browsing, downloading and viewing is integrated seamlessly into the HTC Sense experience. Progressive downloading makes it possible to start watching movies in seconds—even while the movie is downloading in the background. For a true big-screen experience, HTC Watch optimizes video to fill the 4.3-inch widescreen with crisp, cinematic visuals— including 3D movies. Completing this theatre-like experience is high-fidelity SRS WOW HD surround sound for sound as impressive as the video.
“The HTC EVO 3D is a multi-media powerhouse that fits in the palm of your hand,” said Rick Babington, executive director, HTC Canada. “The bar is constantly rising on what people demand from their smartphones and the HTCEVO 3D is answering the call by not only being a powerful communication device, but also a 3D entertainment centre.”
Featuring dual5-megapixel cameras with 3D capture, a VGA forward facing camera and for ultra-crisp videos, a camcorder equipped with HD mode, the HTC EVO 3D is a proficient camera on its own. A dedicated camera button makes taking pictures is simple, and right next to it is a 2D/3D switch button to change shooting modes in the moment.
Wi-Fi Calling
The HTC EVO 3D is the first Android phone available through Rogers to use Wi-Fi Calling. Users can make and receive unlimited local or Canada-wide calls anywhere with Wi-Fi access. When subscribed to an unlimited Wi-Fi calling add-on, any voice minutes used with Wi-Fi calling are not deducted from the voice minute allocation on a user’s voice plan.
Mobile Hotspot
This smartphone will attract attention from others – the HTC EVO 3D has Mobile Hotspot capability, allowing up to eight Wi-Fi enabled devices to share the 4G HSPA Network, including tablets, laptops, MP3 players, cameras, PDAs, portable gaming systems and more.
