For all those Motorola Atrix 4G owners out there we have a little goodie for you, version 4.1.83 update for your device from AT&T and Motorola.
In AT&T’s line-up of Android smartphones, the Atrix 4G is probably one of the most advanced and therefore, it would seem that the carrier and manufacturer want to keep it that way with this update. The update comes with a number of performance enhancements and bug fixes: Improvements to prevent screen from freezing and to limit interruptions to data connection, increased potential data speed and improved incoming and outgoing call functionality to ensure a seamless experience.
Other improvements include, the ability for users to receive email notifications, increased functionality by enabling Yahoo Email to be sent over a Wi-Fi connection, improvements to enable user to use the same email login to access both MOTOBLUR™ and YouTube. There has also been an improved International Roaming Warning Message and improved Happenings Widget to ensure the latest updates are received across the social networks the user is connected to.
Please note that there are also improvements to the call audio function, so it is easier for the person you called to hear you. However, this application is not pre-loaded on the phone, but is available to download from the Android Market. The battery life of Atrix 4G has been a problem with some users, but unfortunately there is no update on this occasion, maybe next time.
Here are the step by step instruction on how to install the new software from Motorola coming our way via IntoMobile, first select “Download” when the software has downloaded, select “Install now”, when the software has been installed, your handset will re-start automatically and be updated with v4.1.83 software.
Now for those who have not received the push notification for the update, here is how you do it manually: First select the Settings icon from the main menu, and then select “About phone”, next select “System updates” and then select “Download”. When the software has downloaded, select “Install”, after the software has been installed the handset will re-start automatically and the update installed.
When you have installed the update to your device, why not let us know what you think of the improvements.
