T-Mobile has announced the forthcoming launch of the T-Mobile Sidekick 4G, the first Sidekick model with support for T-Mobile’s “4G” service, the first Sidekick model with a touch display and the first Sidekick model developed around Android. Pricing has yet to be confirmed.
The T-Mobile Sidekick 4G features a 3.5-inch capacitive touch display at 854×480 resolution, front facing VGA video camera, 3.0 megapixel main camera, microSDHC expansion slot, 1GHz Hummingbird processor, Bluetooth, DriveSmart app for blocking messaging while driving, Qik video calling software and the debut of Sidekick Group Text and Cloud Text which are implementations of group messaging and cross-platform messaging respectively. The Sidekick will also feature Samsung’s Media Hub premium video on demand service as well as T-Mobile’s recently launched T-Mobile TV service.
