HTC’s Facebook Phone ChaCha renamed to ChaChaCha in Spain

Twinset pasture by ChaCha against HTC isn’t the only problem the Taiwanese company has when it comes to the name of its new QWERTY-equipped Facebook Android phone.

In Spain, “ChaCha” is often used as a term of derision, so HTC decided to rebrand its new handset and call it ChaChaCha there. I’m not sure if adding one more Cha can be called rebranding, but anyway.

Just like in the UK and other European markets, in Spain the HTC ChaCha (Cha) should be released in the second quarter of the year. It will run Android 2.4, featuring a full QWERTY keyboard, a dedicated Facebook button, 2.6 inch HVGA touchscreen display, Wi-Fi, HSDPA, and GPS, 5MP photo camera, VGA camera for video calling, 600MHz processor, and MicroSD card support.
